Prayer times
This free tool shows today's and tomorrow's prayer times for towns in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia: Imsak, Fajr, sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and midnight. Pick a country and town — Baku, Ganja, Sumqayit, Lankaran, Nakhchivan, Marneuli, Rustavi, Gardabani, Bolnisi, Tbilisi, Batumi, Yerevan and more. You can switch between Shia (Ja'fari) and Sunni (Hanafi, Shafi'i) calculation, and the next prayer is highlighted.
Calculation: PrayTimes algorithm (same as Aladhan); method parameters from api.aladhan.com/v1/methods. Checked against namazvaxtiaz.com (Ja'fari) for Baku, 2026-10.
How it's calculated
Times are calculated right in your browser from the town's coordinates and the position of the sun (the open PrayTimes algorithm, the same one behind the Aladhan service). Shia (Ja'fari) uses the Qum method: Fajr at 16° below the horizon, Maghrib after sunset once the redness has gone (4°, usually 15–20 minutes), Isha at 14°, and midnight halfway between sunset and Fajr. The Sunni options use Muslim World League (MWL) angles (18°/17°); under the Hanafi school Asr starts when a shadow is twice the object's length. Imsak is 10 minutes before Fajr. Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia all stay on UTC+4 all year.
Example
Baku, 1 October 2026, Ja'fari: Imsak 05:07, Fajr 05:17, sunrise 06:37, Dhuhr 12:30, Asr 15:49, Maghrib 18:40, Isha 19:32. The same day under Hanafi: Fajr 05:06, Asr 16:38, Maghrib 18:23 — the gap comes from the method, not the clock.
Frequently asked questions
Which method is used?
Your choice: Shia (Ja'fari, Qum method — Fajr 16°, Maghrib 4°, Isha 14°) or Sunni Hanafi/Shafi'i (Muslim World League — 18°/17°). The default is Ja'fari for Azerbaijan and Kvemo Kartli and Hanafi for Adjara (Batumi, Kobuleti, Khulo).
How do Shia and Sunni prayer times differ?
Mostly at Maghrib: Shia timetables put it roughly 15–20 minutes after sunset (when the redness fades), Sunni ones at sunset. The Fajr and Isha angles differ too, and Hanafi Asr starts later.
What is Imsak, and when is iftar?
Imsak is when you stop eating and drinking before a fast; the tool shows it 10 minutes before Fajr. Iftar is at Maghrib. During Ramadan, also check your local mosque's timetable.
Are the times accurate?
They're astronomically calculated; an official or mosque timetable may differ by a few minutes. Bazarla is not an official or religious body.
